Six String Jazz - The Night Has A Thousand Eyes.mp3

Our drummer, Rob Stiteler, suggested this tune to us so after a few false starts we got it almost right.

"The Night Of A Thousand Eyes" was written in 1948 by Jerry Brainin (m) & Buddy Bernier (ly) for a film of the same name. It became popular in 1962 when crooner Bobby Vee crooned it to weeks on the Billboard hot 100.

Such jazz musicians as John Coltrane, Kenny Burrell and Paul Desmond added a Latin flavor and alternated swing rhythms between measures. It's a fun tune to play and you can hear us by going above:

Ian Saylor, piano
Rob Stiteler, drums
Wayne Renardson, bass

Recorded Sept. 14, 2023 on a hand-held Tascam DR-40 in Wayne's living room.
