Sadness never ends
Happiness does
Happiness is like a drop
of dew on a flower petal
It shines quietly
And then swings lightly
and falls like a love tear drop
Happiness is a crazy thing
But it’s also so delicate
It has flowers and love
of all colours
It has bird nests
All good things
And because it’s so delicate
Is that I always treat it very well
I always treat it very well
Sadness never ends
Happiness does
The trio decided to try "Felicidade," a fun tune by Antonio Carlos Jobim, who graced the Brazilian landscape with many fine melodies.
Composed in 1958 for the French film "Black Orpheus" it quickly gained favor among jazz musicians who were drawn to both the movie and Brazilian music.
Felicidade in Portuguese translates to 'happiness' but the song is about the transitory nature of joy and the permanence of sadness.
