Six String Jazz Quartet - Tangerine.mp3

Tangerine" was written by Victor Schertzinger (mus), with lyrics by the great Johnny Mercer in 1941. Like many '40s tunes it was introduced in a 1942 Paramount Hollywood movie with singer Cass Daley and Betty Hutton in her feature film debut.

Recorded versions have been made by the Jimmy Dorsey Orch., Tony Bennett, Dave Brubeck, Chet Baker, Jim Hall, Harry Connick, Jr., Benny Goodman, Dr. John, Vaughn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra. Wikipedia claims in 1976, All In the Family had Archie Bunker burst into it repeatedly to interrupt son-in-law Mike's efforts to help pay for Archie's surgery.

Our version was recorded in my living room on a hand-held Tascam May 6th.

The players are:

Mesa Schubeck, piano
Don Fishel, flute
Doug Frame, drums
Wayne Renardson, acoustic bass
