Six String Jazz - Song For My Father.mp3

Since it's Father's Day, the trio put this together. "Song For My Father" is a well worn tune that's often part of a tyro's initiation and a jazz camp favorite.

Written in 1965 by Horace Silver, a pianist and hard bop pioneer, it has endured because it is a great joy to play, making it a favorite at jazz jam sessions. Our take is above:

Ian Saylor, piano
Rob Stiteler, drums
Wayne Renardson, fretless bass

Recorded on a hand-held Tascam DR-40 in Wayne's living room June 7, 2023.
