Jazz Dogs - Afternoon In Paris.mp3

The great pianist John Lewis wrote "Afternoon in Paris" in 1949 and it quickly became a jazz standard after his 1957 recording, a lyrical love note to the City of Light. The new quartet decided to play it during our weekly jam and the result is below: A note about the song: We had a new configuration today. Don Fishel (flute) is in Michigan so Sam Frazee sat in on gut-string guitar about halfway through the set. Players:

Ian Saylor, piano
Sam Frazee, guitar
Rob Stitler, drums
Wayne Renardson, bass

Recorded on a hand-held Tascam DR-40 in Wayne's living room. First time this quartet played together.
