SIx Stinrg Jazz - Fly Me To The Moon.mp3

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
And let me see what spring is like
On a-Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby, kiss me

[Verse 2]
Fill my heart with song
And let me sing forevermore
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you

[Instrumental Bridge]

[Verse 3]
Fill my heart with song
Let me sing forevermore
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, in other words
I love you

"Fly Me To The Moon" was written circa 1954 by Bart Howard but it was not popular until Frank Sinatra recorded it on the disc "It Might As Well Be Swing" (1964), accompanied by Count Basie. When the 1969 Apollo 11 landed on the moon, supposedly astronaut Buzz Aldrin played it, smuggled via cassette, making it the first lunar song.

It's such (I know. Another silly love song) a fine tune it was recorded by Judy Garland, Doris Day, Count Basie, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, and a host of others. The trio gave it a shot last week.

Players:

Ian Saylor, piano
Rob Stiteler, drums
Wayne Renardson, bass

Recorded on a hand-held Tascam DR-40 in Wayne's living room.
