SIx String Jazz - Alice In Wonderland.mp3

Alice in Wonderland
How do you get to Wonderland
Over the hill or under land
Or just behind a tree

When clouds go rolling by
They roll away and leave the sky
Where is the land behind the eye
People cannot see

Where can you see
Where do the stars go
Where is the crescent moon
They must be somewhere in the sunny afternoon

Alice in Wonderland
Where is the path to Wonderland
Over the hill or here or there
I wonder where

by Sammy Fain and Bob Hilliard

A novel written in 1865 by an Oxford math prof named Lewis Carroll turned Disney world aflutter more than Ron DeSantis. Disney took on the story of a young girl falling into a rabbit hole and ncountering fantasy creatures than captured the imagination of many 1951 moviegoers.

Music for the film "Alice In Wonderland" was composed by Bob Hilliard and Sammy Fain of Tin Pan Alley fame. Such jazz groups as Bill Evans Trio brought the title song to the attention of a different audience, turning 'Alice In Wonderland' into a fine jazz waltz. The trio gave it a go a few weeks ago. You can hear it above:

Ian Saylor, piano
Rob Stiteler, drums
Wayne Renardson, bass

Recorded on a hand-held Tascam DR-40 in Wayne's living room.
